I have been busy trying to get my other job going with getting my state license to start selling insurance.  Well, let me tell you it is hard and I have to take the test again because of course I failed yesterday.  Everyone has been telling me that it is a hard test but I just thought for sure I would do fine well ... not! So it's important to always work hard at whatever you do and I will continue on that path, but it's important to know my first love is my business, HGP Design with Connie Mick or Celebrating Home with Connie Mick. 

I love design and decorating.  It's my passion!  I love the decor items that I sell to others but I also buy for myself.  Celebrating Home is not just a home decor company, we provide fundraisers to organizations that need to earn some extra money for a project or whatever their need.  We sell and provide hope ..."Founded in 2010, the Celebrating Hope Foundation provides a means through which Celebrating Home, the founders, Designers, Hostesses, Customers and corporate employees can positively impact the lives of others through targeted Christian outreach. We have started a new year and I am excited about it.  I have moved back to Ohio from Colorado to be closer to family, especially my 87 year old mother.  She has always been my mother and my father, since my father died when I was just a baby and she never remarried because she is still so in love with my daddy.  Love is a very important part of my life with my mother and my immediate family.

I have been married for 23 years to a wonderful man and we have 3 children together and he has an older daughter, as well.  So with his older daughter he has 3 granddaughters and I'm the step-mom and grandma.  We definitely came back here for them.  Family and Love is also important with Celebrating Home.

Celebrating Home bringing families together is our motto and we love it!  Our company started as Home & Garden Party it was founded in 1996 by Penny and Steve Carlile, where women could obtain the “American Dream” by bringing families and friends together through their entertaining and decorating our homes.  Then in  2008, Penny and Steve Carlile acquired Home Interiors & Gifts (Mary Crowley founded Home Interiors & Gifts in 1957 in Dallas, Texas and it was her dream to provide a career opportunity for women that would enhance their lives through decorating the homes and lives of others.) They established Celebrating Home in early 2009 – blending “the best of the best” to create the strongest and single most supportive and empowering career opportunity for women today. And I am proud to be one of those women. 

I am excited to fill my calendar with many party bookings to share my home decorating skills along with selling home decor items and helping organizations to meet their goals and needs.  There is so much that I want to do with helping others with their own goals with decorating and maybe even choosing a career opportunity working with me and many other designers. I hope to grow my company and my life this year.  I would like to share all of these adventures and decorating tips with you here on my blog.  I hope to talk again with you soon.
